The last training camp in this year’s edition of Eurokids project was held in Hluk (Czech Republic). This is the 8th year of this program and previously Guernsey and Buzau hosted youngsters in February and September 2008. In Hluk, 32 boys and girls from 16 countries worked with 15 coaches’, under the guidance of head coach Jarek KOLODZIEJCZYK and ETTU expert Zoran DJOKIC.
Within camp talented kids had a chance to play the tournament in the middle of the week in order to allow to practice strengths and weaknesses based on the level of play during the competition still in Hluk.
Adrian COSTEA from Romania won first place at the tournament whilst his compatriot Bernadette BALINT was best in girls category, ranked five overall. Second was Patrick VLACUSKA from Slovakia and third David REITSPIES from host nation. Gökcenur GÜNGÖR from Turkey and Lucia TRUKSOVA from Slovakia were second and third in girl category, or 8th and 9th overall
In Hluk the experts worked on technique of attacking game (variations of topspin, smash and contra attack), footwork while changing from passive to attacking game and opposite, and how to adjust the power of stroke in destructive game.
